Jennifer Rene Psaki
Jennifer Rene Psaki, an American political advisor, served as the 34th White House Press Secretary from 2021-2022. A member of Democratic Party, Psaki was previously the White House deputy secretary (2009), White House deputy director of communications (2009-2011), spokesperson for United States Department of State 2013-2015 as well as the White House communications Director (2015-2017). Psaki was a political contributor to CNN between 2017-2020. Psaki started her career in 2001 by working on the re-election campaigns of Iowa Democrats Tom Harkin for the U.S. Senate and Tom Vilsack for governor. Psaki was then appointed as deputy press secretary to John Kerry's 2004 presidential campaign. Psaki was also the communications director for Joseph Crowley, a U.S. Representative, and the regional press secretary for the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee from 2005 to 2006. Psaki was press secretary to the Obama reelection campaign in 2012. [20] Psaki was named as spokesperson for the United States Department of State on February 11 2013. There was speculation that Psaki was to replace Jay Carney, White House Press Secretary, at the Department of State.[21] But Josh Earnest replaced Carney on May 30 in 2014. She was appointed Communications Director in the White House and continued to do so until the end of the year in 2015.
